Book Reviews

I spend a great deal of time reading and, thanks to my youngest sister, most of my reading has been Young Adult. She turned me onto the genre, but I have stuck to it because I love it!

I've decided to put this hobby to good use by doing some book reviews. I'll start with some of the books I have read this summer and we'll see how it goes. Here are a few of my recent reads which I may (or may not) review.

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

Kissed by an Angel (Power of Love/Soulmates) by Elizabeth Chandler

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

The Maximum Ride (series) by James Patterson

The Dangerous Days of Daniel X by James Patterson

The Uglies, The Pretties, The Specials by Scott Westerfeld

The Forest of Hands & Teeth by Carrie Ryan

If I Stay by Gayle Forman

The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult

The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer

Crazy Making

Blue October kicks off their "Crazy making" tour this weekend (with Switchfoot). If you are a fan of this group and have not seen them live you really need to. They are incredible.

I will be seeing them in NJ in August, can't wait!

Blue October Love

Justin Furstenfeld from Blue October has four really great vids on YouTube talking about some of the songs from their newest album Approaching Normal. The album is amazing and the videos are really cool.

Twilight Saga Excitement

I have spent many hours today enjoying the newly re-launched New Moon Official Website. It is really cool and shows a lot of great shots from the movie. Check out some of my favorite screenshots on the NEPA TwilightMoms blog here and visit the site here.

2 of my Favorite Things

Two of my very favorite things are the Twilight Saga books and Blue October (Justin Furstenfeld and the boys) in a funny twist of fate these two are connected. Stephenie Meyer cites many Blue October songs on her playlists for the Twilight Saga books. She was inspired to write many scenes after/while listening to their songs. As a matter of fact before Breaking Dawn was released Stephenie and Justin Furstenfeld did a tour together promoting the book. Justin sang acoustic versions of some of his songs (let me tell you I would give my right arm to have been at one of those concerts).
As happy as I am for Blue October to be getting the love of the Twilight fans, I have some personal hang-ups about it - that's a discussion for another day.
Ok back to the purpose of this post... A special edition of Breaking Dawn is hitting stores on August 4 and it includes a little bit o' Justin. Check it out
This Special Edition of the #1New York Times bestseller includes: An exclusive Breaking Dawn Concert Series DVD featuring a performance by Blue October's Justin Furstenfeld and a conversation with Stephenie Meyer and Justin Furstenfeld. A reproduction of the personal, handwritten lyrics for My Never from Justin Furstenfeld. A limited-edition, full-color Bella & Edward poster (on reverse side of book jacket). And more! The astonishing, breathlessly anticipated conclusion to The Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.
It's safe to say that I will be purchasing this! If you are interested you can pre-ordered now at Borders.com, Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble and probably many more outlets.

First Post

I have been working on fansite/blogs for some of my favorite things (Twilight, Maximum Ride, Blue October) and decided I should have one main blog for me. A place to talk about anything, everything and nothing at all. Visit whenever you'd like. I look forward to making some new friends and maybe keeping in touch with some old ones.
