Thinking of a Friend

A good friend of ours has been fighting cancer and undergoing radical chemotherapy for the past 6 months.  Tomorrow he will undergo a really big, long, dangerous surgery.

It's hard to think that for the rest of us tomorrow will be business as usual.  For his kids it will be a day of waiting at home for word about their dad.

While we are saying 'Thank God It's Friday, the weekend is here'; his wife, will be praying to God that the team of 10 doctors is able to successfully perform the surgery, that her husband will come back to her.

We will be complaining about gas prices, talking about the royal wedding, and hoping it doesn't rain.  He will be placing his life into the hands of others, telling his family how much he loves them and praying for the best, but preparing for the worst.

Life can be beautiful.  Life can also be hard and unfair.

Whether you are a religious person or not, I ask you... Please pray for my friend Fran, his wife and kids, and especially for the team of medical professionals who will spend about 12 hours tomorrow trying to make his world beautiful again.

What a reminder about all I have to be grateful for. I am praying for everyone involved.
